2011 New Year's Resolutions (",)

It's a popular practice to start off the new year with new year's resolutions, and here's mine! (",)

1) I want to be H.O.T.! =D

I got to learn about this term, Happy Ordinary Teacher, during the 2010 PSLE marking, from a Nan Chiau Pri teacher. I was greatly amused at that time and I thought how this term aptly described and elicited what I had in my mind all these while.

My ambition was to be a principal when I first joined teaching, but only to discover more meanings as a classroom teacher after two years. Though I am not here to save the world, I find it rewarding and gain great satisfaction in inculcating good values and instilling good conduct in children, on top of achieving good academic results. =)

I just want to continue doing what I enjoy most. I wanna be HOT! ^_^

2) Start organising

Both at home and at work. I need to overcome my bad habit of procrastinating and this requires discipline. When things are more organised, we feel more motivated and confident to meet our daily challenges.

3) Enjoy life to the fullest!

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Teachers work very long hours a day. Things are very often not over even after school hours and can last till midnight, and weekends are not spared too. If u divide a teacher's pay with his/her working hours, the rate may be even lower than the part-timers at McDonald's. =O

This is not worth it, in terms of monetary and health aspects.

Life comes once and must be enjoyed as much as possible in the right ways. Therefore, I must seize every opportunities to enjoy life to the fullest! =D

4) Get fit and healthy

It's "get" fit and not "stay" fit because I am not fit to start off with. Haha.. I plan to jog at least twice a week, 2.4km each time. (".)

I want to take part in the 10km Sundown Marathon 2011 on 28 May too! =)

5) Learn cooking

This is in conjunction with point 1 & 3.

I hope to go home not later than 4.52pm every day to cook! =P

I have checked up the cooking courses offered by People's Association @ the community centres. They are either one-time cooking session or lessons which require prior cooking knowledge and sad to say, I have none. =(

Any chefs out there? >_<

6) Tidy the house

Previously, it used to be tidying a room, but now a house. (",) I have been saying and hoping to tidy the house before Christmas, but it did not happen.

This time round, it shall be before Chinese New Year (CNY), so that I can invite relatives & friends over during this festive period for the first time since I moved to Sengkang in Sep '10. =D

These are my six resolutions for this new year! What's yours? ^_^
